Add a marketplace account
You connect a new eMAG, Fashion Days or ABOUT YOU seller account to Stock Sync, safely in Preview, so it can be checked before it sends anything. The steps below are for eMAG and Fashion Days; an ABOUT YOU account is added the same way, with a few differences.
Before you begin
Who can do this: an Operator. Viewers do not see New account.
Time needed: about 5 minutes, plus a few minutes for the first offer import to run.
Before you start: have these from whoever manages the seller account on the marketplace:
- which marketplace site it is (for example eMAG Hungary);
- the API user and API password of that seller account;
- the Warehouse id, if the marketplace gave you one other than 1.
Agree with the product owner whether the account needs a Lead-time limit. It can be changed later.
Setting up a test account
On the test environment, use the eMAG marketplace sandbox, an imitation of eMAG that no customer ever sees. An account's API address there looks like https://emag-sandbox.commercehub.io/fd-ro/api-3: pick any eMAG card, then type that address over the one filled in on the Connection step. Use the sandbox user and password the technical team gives you. The sandbox explains its sites and test offers in its own guide. Never type real marketplace credentials on the test environment.
Steps
Open New account, any of these ways:
- on the Accounts page, click New account at the top right;
- click the + beside Accounts in the sidebar;
- press Ctrl K, type new and press Enter.
The New account form opens over the Accounts page: "Connect a marketplace account in four short steps. Nothing is sent until you go Live." The four steps along its top are Marketplace, Connection, Stock rules and Review.

Marketplace. Click the card of the site, for example eMAG Hungary. The Name fills in with the site's name; change it to the name everyone will see, for example eMAG HU. Names must be unique. When one marketplace has two accounts, add a word that tells them apart (eMAG Romania Wh 2). The badge beside the name shows the initials and colour the account will get (see Account badge). In the picture, the name eMAG Romania gets ERA, not ER: the existing account eMAG RO already has ER, so the newcomer gets a letter added. Click Next.
Connection. The API address of the site is already filled in; leave it unless you were given another. Type the API user and the API password. The password shows only as dots, and once saved it is never shown again. Leave Warehouse id on 1 and Requests per second on 2, unless the marketplace told you otherwise (Requests per second can be at most 3).
Click Test connection. Stock Sync asks the marketplace whether it accepts these credentials, without saving anything. The answer appears beside the button: green when accepted, red with the marketplace's reason when refused. It is optional, but it catches a wrong password before the account exists.

Click Next.
Stock rules. Choose No limit ("Every linked offer publishes its PIM available stock."), or Limit to a whole number of days: products with a longer lead time publish 0 (not eligible). Click Next.
Review. Check every line: Marketplace, Name, the connection (the password reads Set (never shown again)), Lead-time limit and Connection test (Accepted, Refused or Not tested). The box under it repeats: "Starts in Preview: everything is calculated, nothing is sent. The first offer import starts right away; check the offers, then Go Live from the account page." Back goes to an earlier step; you can also click a finished step at the top.

Click Create account.
Closing the form with something typed asks first, so nothing is lost by accident.
What you should see
The new account's workspace opens straight away.

- A message: "eMAG HU is created in Preview; its first offer import is requested."
- The status reads Preview, and the banner says "Going Live would send 0 stock updates now.", because no offers have been read yet.
- Credentials on the Summary's Connection card reads "Set, updated" with today's date and time. The password itself is not shown anywhere.
- The account appears in the sidebar, in its marketplace's group, with its badge and a PREVIEW tag, and on the Accounts page.
- The account's Activity tab says you created the account.
The first Offer import runs in the background. For a few thousand offers it takes about a minute; you can watch it in the Live feed or the account's Activity tab. As soon as it finishes, the page shows how many offers are Not linked, and how many would be sent on going Live: it updates live.
The account stays in Preview until an operator deliberately goes Live.
Adding an ABOUT YOU account
An ABOUT YOU account is added in the same form, and starts in Preview like every account. A few things differ: the one credential it needs, its orders, and the way its offers are linked to PIM products.
What you need
- An API key, created by an Admin of the ABOUT YOU Seller Center under Settings → API Keys. ABOUT YOU shows the key once, so copy it as soon as it is made. Enter or change credentials says where it comes from.
- To know whether it is the key of the real shop or of ABOUT YOU's sandbox. The key decides which one Stock Sync writes to, and nothing on the screen tells the two apart afterwards. On the test environment use a sandbox key; never type the real shop's key there.
Open New account and click the ABOUT YOU card (it says Also reads orders). Type the Name, for example ABOUT YOU. Click Next.
On Connection, leave API address as it is,
https://partner.aboutyou.com/api/v1. ABOUT YOU has one address for the real shop and for the sandbox; the key picks the one.Paste the key into API key. It shows only as dots, and once saved it is never shown again. Leave Requests per second on 16: ABOUT YOU allows 1,000 requests a minute. Click Test connection, then Next.
On Stock rules, set the Lead-time limit as for any account. Under it, the orders start Off: Preview and Live need the Odoo mapping first, set up in the account's Settings → Orders → Odoo once it is created (see Go live with orders). Click Next.
On Review, check the lines (Orders: Off is among them) and click Create account.
What you should see. The same as for any account: the message "ABOUT YOU is created in Preview; its first offer import is requested.", the Preview status and banner, and Credentials reading "Set, updated" with the time. The Summary's Connection card shows Platform: ABOUT YOU and no Warehouse row, because ABOUT YOU has no warehouse setting. The account has an Orders tab. The first Offer import reads every product variant ABOUT YOU holds for the shop.
ABOUT YOU offers are linked by SKU, not by a PIM product id. As soon as the import finishes the account shows how many offers are Not linked. Read How ABOUT YOU offers are linked before judging that number.
| Message or sign | Fix |
|---|---|
| Required under API key | Paste the key. |
| Test connection answers in red, the first Offer import is Failed, or the account turns Suspended with a reason that starts "ABOUT YOU … answered 401" (or 403) | ABOUT YOU refused the key: it was mistyped, has expired, or was deleted in the Seller Center. Ask the Admin for a new key and enter it as in Enter or change credentials, then Recover. |
If something goes wrong
If a field is wrong, the step does not move on and each field says what to fix. The messages appear only when you press Next or Create account, and go away as soon as you edit the field. If the server refuses a field of an earlier step, the form goes back to that step to show it.

| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
| Choose the marketplace | Click one of the cards. |
| Give the account a name | Type a name. |
| At most 100 characters | Shorten the name. |
| A web address starting with https:// | Type the full address. |
| Required | The API user and password cannot be empty. Nor can Warehouse id or Requests per second: if you emptied one, type the value back in. |
| Fill in API user, API password first. beside Test connection | The test needs every connection field filled in. |
| A red answer beside Test connection | The marketplace refused the credentials, or could not be reached; its reason is shown. Check them with the marketplace team. You can still create the account, but it will be suspended at its first import. |
| Whole days, such as 2 | Type digits only under Limit to, or choose No limit. |
| At least 1 day | 0 is not a limit: type 1 or more, or choose No limit. |
| An account named "eMAG HU" already exists | Choose another name. Capitals do not count as different. |
| A red box: eMAG HU was created in Preview, but its first offer import was not requested …, with an Open eMAG HU link | The account exists. Click Open eMAG HU, then More → Import offers once the message queue is back (or wait for the nightly import). Do not create it again. |
| The first Offer import is Failed, or the account turns Suspended | Usually a wrong address, user or password. Correct them as in Enter or change credentials, then Recover. |
| Many offers are Not linked | Their offer id is not a PIM product id. See An offer is Not linked. |

Example
The business opens eMAG Hungary. Radu, an operator, gets the API user stock-sync.hu@fashiondays.test and its password from the marketplace team. The product owner wants a 3-day lead-time limit.
- He clicks + beside Accounts in the sidebar, clicks the eMAG Hungary card and changes the name to eMAG HU. The badge beside it reads EH. Next.
- The address
https://marketplace-api.emag.hu/api-3is already filled in. He types the user and password and clicks Test connection: green. Next. - He chooses Limit to and types 3. Next, then Create account on the review. The message says "eMAG HU is created in Preview; its first offer import is requested."
- A minute later the Offer import shows "2,056 seen" in the feed. The workspace now shows 212 Not linked, and the banner reads "Going Live would send 1,310 stock updates now."
He sends the 212 not-linked offer ids to the listing team and hands the account to the product owner for the checks in Go from Preview to Live.
